What you can expect

From the magnificent beaches to the rich and unique biodiversity beneath the waves, the Tuamotu Islands are a paradise on earth. The 76 atolls are spread over a surface of more than 1.2 million square miles where Cast Away or Robinson Crusoe could still come to life.

Tikehau, when seen from the air, is a crown of white and pink sand around a lagoon of such a bright blue that it’s almost unreal. A dreamlike atoll, straight out of a picture postcard, with a lagoon teeming with more fish than any other island in the archipelago.

Rangiroa, or Ra’iroa (the big sky) is in one of the biggest lagoons in the world. There are two passes in the coral reef, Avatoru and Tiputa, both of which are teeming with an outstanding variety of sea life.

Fakarava This idyllic atoll is famed for its incredible biodiversity and breath taking underwater scenery (including a ‘wall of sharks!’). Diving enthusiasts come from all over the world to swim with the majestic grey sharks in the waters of Fakarava, explore the coral reef and drop-off, and admire the sea turtles, rays, barracudas and a host of other marine species. A veritable natural sanctuary where each dive is even more magical and thrilling than the last.
